Embracing spooky season, chillers? Or are you yet to get into the spooky spirit?

In either case, BOY DO I HAVE A SERIES FOR YOU: Widow's Bay (2026). It's an Apple Originals series (the home of Severance, if that tells you anything), it's a limited series, so you get a complete story, thank god! Ten episodes, roughly 30-40 minutes each. 8.1 on IMDb 👀

The story takes place on a fairly isolated island (🤩🤩🤩), full of character, color and, of course, superstition (🤩🤩🤩). We follow the mayor who tries to put Widow's Bay on the map as a tourist destination, only to realize that the island is, indeed, haunted 😈

I'm generally not big on horror films/shows — no offense to the fans; my problem with horror shows is, well, they scare me 😭 This one is a seamless blend of comedy and horror. At times it's almost sitcom-like, with silly gags, and then — B00 👻 — the horror kicks in.

I also appreciate the setting — no cell service or Wi-Fi (only landlines), and the island feels lived-in, old, steeped in its folklore and mysteries 🐱
