هوشنگ و جشنِ سده
با زاده شدنِ آتش، روشنایی به میراثِ انسان بدل شد.

Before the Maker of the world he stood,
In prayer and praise before the Lord of all.
He said: “This is a radiance born divine;
If you have wisdom, it is this you should revere.”
That night he held a feast and drank the wine,
And named that blessed celebration “Sadeh”.

‎جهاندار پیش جهان آفرین
‎نیایش همی کرد و خواند آفرین
‎بگفتا فروغی است این ایزدی
‎پرستید باید اگر بخردی
‎یکی جشن کرد آن شب و باده خْوَرد
‎سده نام آن جشن فرخنده کرد
