سوگواریِ سیامک
جهان، نخستین اندوهِ خود را تجربه کرد.

When word arrived: the prince, the king’s own son, was dead,
The whole world darkened under grief and dread.

His cheeks ran red with blood, his heart with sorrow torn,
His eyes rained tears like spring clouds before the storm.

From then, for Siyamak’s vengeance he arose;
By night and day, no rest or sleep he knew.

چو آگه شد از مرگ فزرند شاه
ز تیمار گیتی بر او شد سیاه
دو رخساره پر خون و دل سوگوار
دو دیده پر از نم چو ابر بهار
و زان پس به کین سیامک شتافت
شب و روز آرام و خفتن نیافت
