It is an honor to welcome Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Greece as he leads the U.S. delegation for the Sixth U.S.-Greece Strategic Dialogue. His visit underscores the strength of our alliance and our shared commitment to advancing @POTUS’s priorities, including defense cooperation, trade and investment, and energy cooperation.
The U.S.-Greece partnership has never been stronger, and together we are building an even more secure and prosperous future for both our nations and the region.

Trusted technology partnerships will define the future. I was honored to meet with Minister Dimitris Papastergiou to discuss opportunities for the United States and Greece to collaborate to advance our shared technology goals—from the groundbreaking Daedalus supercomputer to satellites and space exploration. U.S.-Greece cooperation in super intelligence, cybersecurity, and space has never been stronger.

It was wonderful to join Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan, colleagues, and friends to celebrate Armenia’s Independence Day here in Greece! As Secretary Rubio has said, in the coming years we anticipate deepening the partnership between our two nations. 🇺🇸 🇦🇲 🇬🇷

I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of four American citizens in yesterday’s explosion in central Athens. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and the loved ones of those killed and injured in this horrific incident. Our hearts are with them during this difficult time. I extend my deepest appreciation to the Greek first responders who worked tirelessly at the scene. The U.S. Embassy is providing consular assistance and support to the victims’ families.

I was pleased to meet with Trans Adriatic Pipeline Managing Director Luca Schieppati and Greece Country Representative Ioannis Maris to discuss the future of TAP. TAP continues to play a key role in diversifying energy supplies for Greece - and the region - and could expand its role through the delivery of American LNG through Greece to Southeast Europe in the future.

As President Trump has said, “Israel will always remain a vital ally of the United States of America.”

I enjoyed two productive days in Thessaloniki, starting at the Southeast Europe Energy Forum and engaging with energy ministers from Bulgaria, Iva Petrova, from North Macedonia, Sanja Bozinovska, from Cyprus, Michael Damianos, and the senior leadership of regional gas firms, and transmission system operators who are all working to advance energy security and diversification across Southeast Europe. Our meetings focused on strengthening infrastructure, mobility, and connectivity across the region. Energy security is national security. #SEEF26 #TIF90 🇺🇸 🇬🇷

In Thessaloniki last week, I was delighted to host a gathering of senior energy officials from Greece @ntsafos, Cyprus @MichaelDamianos, North Macedonia Sanja Bozinovska, and Romania alongside my colleagues @Energy Special Envoy for Global Energy Integration Joshua Volz and @USEmbassySkopje Chargé d’Affaires Nicole Varnes. This group understands that energy security is national security. By working together to advance the Vertical Corridor and increase the supply of U.S. LNG to our European partners, we are safeguarding energy resilience, promoting diversification, and bringing greater stability to the entire region.

I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the two pilots who tragically lost their lives in today’s accident at Tanagra Air Base during Athens Flying Week. My thoughts and prayers are also with the Hellenic Air Force and their fellow aviators as they mourn this profound loss.

I was honored to speak at @AmChamGr’s Southeast Europe Energy Forum in Thessaloniki alongside my colleagues @Energy Special Envoy for Global Energy Integration Joshua Volz and @USEmbassySkopje Chargé d’Affaires Nicole Varnes. We discussed how U.S. leadership under @POTUS , regional cooperation, and strategic partnerships are strengthening energy security across Southeast Europe, and how U.S. LNG plays a critical role in Europe’s energy diversification. The Vertical Corridor MoU extending cooperation to Serbia and North Macedonia is another critical step toward a more connected, resilient, and secure regional energy market. #SEEF2026
