A fake market-tracking app called FomoPeek, distributed through Apple's official App Store between September 9 and 17, was delivering iOS malware designed to steal cryptocurrency wallet credentials, according to blockchain security firm SlowMist and crypto exchange OKX.
Versions 1.1 and 1.2 of the app contained a kernel exploit framework engineered to break out of the iOS sandbox, decrypt the device's Keychain, and exfiltrate data from 19 installed applications — including MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and Apple Notes.
SlowMist said it had traced nearly 580,000 USDT to the attacker's primary wallet.
