1. ⏳ Bedazzled — William Shakespeare
Shakespeare is credited with popularising bedazzled, meaning completely amazed

The audience was bedazzled by the performance.

2. 🦸 Swagger — William Shakespeare
The word swagger appeared in Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Part 2. Today, it means a confident, sometimes arrogant way of behaving.

He walked in with so much swagger.

3. 👀 Eyeball — William Shakespeare
Even eyeball is often credited to Shakespeare! He used the word in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Her eyes were as big as eyeballs. 😭

4. 🧟 Robot — Karel Čapek
The word robot wasn't originally English. Czech writer Karel Čapek introduced it in his 1920 play R.U.R. It comes from robota, meaning forced labour.

5. 🦋 Malapropism — Richard Brinsley Sheridan
The term comes from Mrs. Malaprop, a character in Sheridan's play The Rivals. She constantly used the wrong words that sounded similar to the words she meant.
