An emergency meeting will take place in Northern Ireland to discuss the shooting dead of 51 cattle in a field in County Tyrone.

The cull was carried out by staff from the Department of Agriculture Environment and Rural Affairs (Daera) on land near Fivemiletown in June.

It prompted widespread criticism after claims that some of the cattle had been killed in view of members of the public.

One councillor claimed the cull was "like a wild west scene" and gunfire was heard.
