“Europe has a serious problem with oil and petroleum products. The coming autumn and winter will be very difficult,” Robert Fico told Slovakia’s SITA news agency.
The situation is particularly tense when it comes to diesel fuel. The prime minister cited the conflict between Iran and the United States, reduced oil-refining capacity, and shifting trade flows among the contributing factors.
“I fear that in the near future we are heading toward extremely difficult, perhaps even catastrophic, scenarios involving diesel fuel,” the Slovak prime minister warned.
