Wealthy individuals who have left the United Kingdom have taken assets totaling about $160 billion with them

Their departure is attributed to tax hikes, the elimination of tax breaks for the wealthy, and fears of new levies. Many of those who left have chosen Monaco, Switzerland, the UAE, Greece, and Italy.

Bloomberg notes that the exodus of the wealthy is already affecting the luxury real estate market and other segments of London’s economy.
