Owner of a Network of Psychotherapy Clinics Defrauded the Pentagon of $26 Million
Kevin Curry, 64, who owns medical facilities in Florida and Texas, received this amount for transcranial magnetic stimulation, which turned out to be ineffective, as well as for selling access to this type of treatment to active-duty service members, their family members, and U.S. military veterans. Neither Curry himself nor most of his employees had any medical training, yet they were selling patients nothing but hot air.
Meanwhile, he spent the money he received on luxury purchases: more than $100,000 went toward a gold-plated Tesla Cybertruck. In addition, the clinic owner organized a themed party styled after a casino. The FBI and health care regulators are currently investigating Curry’s case.
