12 years ago, on June 14, 2014, the IL-76 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was shot down by the MANPADS of the Wagner Group. On board were 40 paratroopers of the 25th Airborne Brigade and 9 crew members, who were being transferred to reinforce the Lugansk airport. At that time, these were the largest single-moment losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Lugansk airport itself was taken by storm by the Wagner Group a few months later.
