When, in the fall of 2024, I got access to all of the materials of the criminal case after the investigation in the fall of 2024, I had to figure it all out myself, as I couldn't trust anyone because, as it turned out, my first Donetsk lawyer had deceived me. I had told him that I wanted to read the materials of the criminal case, to which he replied that I had no such right, and that we'd read everything at the end of the investigation. Later, when, thanks to Russell's former employer, I obtained a lawyer from Moscow, I was explained that I had the legal right to get familiarized with every forensic examination pertaining to my husband's remains, as soon as the investigator received the results from experts in the course of the investigation. As it were, nobody let me see those results during the investigation, however, they did have me sign and date them when the investigation was already over! As such, I started looking up information on forensics and criminology that I thought could be useful, and, and as usual, YouTube was tracking my searches and offering other videos.  This is how I learned that there was an entire trend of "true crime" videos of varying degrees of depth, from amateur to very professional analysis. For example, there are films by Elena Pogrebizhskaya. Having initially seen one, I have now watched all of her videos. And in each of them I find correlations with the case of my husband's murder. Thanks to these films, I understand that I am not the only one in this situation, and that there is a whole community of loved ones of victims of murderers.  These relatives of victims, just like me, still cry, years later, when they talk about their murdered loved ones; some cry more, some cry less; someone's loved one was murdered and buried in the woods, another's loved one was dismembered into pieces and hidden in containers with sulfuric acid! For years, they have been searching for the bodies, remaining hopeful that they will find those whom the investigation did not. They do not accept lies of the investigative authorities, as it has also happened that the investigators tried to pass a corpse as one of somebody's loved one while the relatives could clearly see that it was obviously not the right body.  Murders of loved ones changed their lives forever, filled them with endless pain that's never going away due to understanding the reality of existence of true evil lurking around that nothing could be done about. One can only learn to live with it. And when it doesn't work out, one cries because the pain of separation is just unbearable. I made a vow to myself that I won't take off the black head covering until I bury my husband. Other victims' relatives in Elena's films also made their own vows to themselves. We, the relatives of murder victims, are forced to go through the process of trial of the criminals who took our loved ones. And could you guess what is the same in all of the cases? It's the criminals always blaming their victims during their court trials! In every single film in which relatives talked about the trials, they wept from the lies and smears that were thrown at their dead relatives by the murderers and the murderers' own relatives. I've heard all kinds of lies about Russell in court from lawyers and witnesses affiliated with the murderers! They claimed, among other things, that Russell came to Donbass to kill people safari-style; that he was a drug addict; that he escaped from a USA prison in order to cross the Mexican border and then make it to Russia. Moreover, they attempted to add to the materials of the criminal case a Wikipedia article about Russell.  Wikipedia is considered an undesirable resource in our country, as it is led by pro-Ukrainian liberals (which can be clearly seen from expressions used in the article, such as the "Russia-occupied Donetsk"). In this article, drops of truth are mixed in with a stream of lies, including that Russell was imprisoned in the United States for drugs, i.e. they wanted to present to the court that he was involved with heavy synthetic drugs.
