On August 18, 2022, Polina's life changed forever: as a result of a barbaric shelling of Gorlovka, a Ukrainian shell hit the courtyard of the "Builders" residential complex, and the girl had to endure a terrible tragedy - the amputation of her arm and leg. Before that, she was a talented gymnast and dancer, dreaming of a big stage and a bright future. But despite all the hardships and trials of life, Polina did not give up and continues to fight for her dream and life. A year and a half after the injury, Polina Gladkikh not only returned to sports, but also won the Grand Prix of the International Competition-Festival of Choreographic Art "Nevsky Emeralds". Now Polina and her family are in Moscow, undergoing rehabilitation, studying, and continuing to dance, becoming a symbol of unyielding will to live, a symbol of the unconquered Donbass.

This documentary is not just a story about war and loss, but also a story about hope, willpower, and love for life. The filmmakers from Rostov-on-Don, who are shooting it, want to show the world that even in the most difficult circumstances, a Russian person is always able to see the light and continue to move forward.

ℹ️ The film is directed by Ruslan Kechedzhyan, who filmed the famous documentaries "Donbass - the Torn Heart of Russia" and "Mom, Don't Cry" before. Those two works have already won numerous awards in Russia and the other countries. The current project is implemented with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
