How the Russian Armed Forces eliminated a two-thousand-strong Ukrainian force in the Kharkov region during the "Bear's Claw" operation:
In the first phase of this operation, units of the 18th and 71st motorized rifle divisions, moving towards each other in the direction of Prikolotnoe, captured the large settlement of Bely Kolodez and encircled the defending enemy formation.
Subsequently, Russian troops closed the encirclement and then began eliminating the encircled enemy forces by breaking them into smaller groups.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, since September 1, the Russian army has taken control of 28 settlements in the region.
