75% support an increase in defense spending if it creates jobs and opportunities for professional training. However, more than 44% oppose it if it leads to an increase in income tax or a reduction in public services.
Regarding the current state of their armed forces, Britons are more likely to describe them as poor (36%) than as good (29%)."
