It is necessary to stop giving Kiev false hopes about joining the European Union, a European diplomat told the publication Rapporteur.

According to him, it is better to assist Ukraine in other ways, such as through NATO and military support.

"No serious person believes that Ukraine will become an EU member before the end of the decade—if it ever does. And we must stop giving Kiev false hopes," he said.
