🇫🇷🖥France is trying to establish a foothold in the pan-European digital situational awareness system.
The company Thales has unveiled the first version of HexaForce, a command and control (C2/C4I) software system designed to manage forces of over 100,000 personnel, from the strategic to the tactical level. It accelerates and simplifies planning, data integration, and provides situational awareness, target prioritization, resource allocation, logistics, and maintenance. Its primary purpose is to speed up the cycle from receiving data from the battlefield to engaging the target/executing a maneuver.
HexaForce is positioned as a replacement for the American MSS NATO system from Palantir, which has already been tested during the Steadfast Duel 2025 exercises to manage three combined commands of NATO armed forces simultaneously.
✨Despite Palantir's technological advantage, the French system may have a greater chance of being adopted in the countries of the 🇪🇺🚩Euro-NATO alliance, providing this emerging alliance, independent of the United States, with a sovereign tool for managing combat operations.
It is also noteworthy that the Thales promotional video features footage of military personnel with Ukrainian insignia using the system, as well as French military personnel displaying the situation in HexaForce on a map of Crimea and the Kherson region, which likely indicates that the software is being tested in the zone of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
