Main source of information: astatement from Ekaterina Kononenko, operational manager of the Romanian-registered shipping company Avalon Shipping (which operates with Ukrainian Danube ports such as Reni and Izmail), which has been widely circulated in the media.

✨There is no official confirmation from the 🇷🇴Romanian administration responsible for the canal and pilotage services.

Furthermore, analysis of monitoring resources indicates that shipping has not been completely stopped, and movement to Danube ports,including those in the Odessa region,is continuing.

✨ It is possible that this is an attempt to divert the attention of the Russian Armed Forces from strikes in this direction, which is currently themain maritime route for delivering fuel and military supplies to Ukraine, as well as achannel for exporting agricultural products.
