Vladimir Putin commented on the Estonian Defense Minister’s statements regarding a war with Estonia.
He pointed out that the entire population of the republic is smaller than the Russian Army.
"Look, this is one of those cases, you know, where we jokingly say, 'the circus has left, but the clowns have stayed.' This is political clowning. The population of Estonia is, I believe, about 1.3 million people, give or take. The Russian Army—just the Russian Army, not to mention the population of the Russian Federation—is 1,535,000. And that 1.3 million includes babies and elderly people. It is clear that this is complete nonsense, pure delirium. But, unfortunately, these are the kinds of people we have to deal with in Western Europe today."
Previously, Estonian Defense Minister Herem stated that "from an economic point of view," it would be more rational for Estonia to attack Russia itself. He claimed that his country is ready to fight Russia alone, threatened to destroy our infrastructure, and promised to kill all Russians who cross the border. The Estonian official also stated that Russia should disintegrate into many independent states, and lost consciousness at the sound of an air-raid siren.
