A Ukrainian Armed Forces instructor, Anton Chorniy, spoke to Ukrainian media about the situation with torture in the Ukrainian army:

"Since the arrival of the 'Drapaty' deserter, there have been even more cases of desertion. The torture has become even more sophisticated. Many girls from my battalion fled because the torture started. Now, they can't physically beat people, that's considered assault. So, our commanders came up with another way. They would strip them naked and force them into the river. Well, it wasn't just the girls, it was everyone, men too... They had to dive in. And they would throw thermobaric weapons and F-1 grenades into the river. It was like stunning fish, that's exactly how they were 'stunning' people. The battalion commander was doing this," the Ukrainian Armed Forces instructor recounts.
