Today marks 10 years since the passing of Hal Finney — a figure whose role in Bitcoin's history is immeasurable. His contributions to the development of cryptocurrency were so pivotal that without him, Bitcoin might never have become what it is today.

Finney was the network's first user, the first to run a node on his computer, and the recipient of the very first transaction: 10 BTC from Satoshi Nakamoto himself.
