⭐️The Telegram team released Telegram Stars
Pavel Durov announced the release of Telegram Stars - which allow users to pay for digital goods and services in bots, mini-apps, and throughout the Telegram ecosystem.
Future updates will bring additional features, such as gifts for content creators and much more. We could say they are akin to likes on VK.
Unlike traditional apps, mini-apps in Telegram, like Notcoin, do not require installation to be used. That's why they are getting so popular. Additionally, the social nature of Telegram allows mini-apps to spread virally, reaching tens of millions of users in just a few weeks.⚡️
Thanks to Telegram Stars, mini-apps can now accept payments for digital services using the most obvious payment method - in-app purchases on Android and iOS.
Developers of mini-apps can cash out their stars via Fragment for TON. They can also use Stars to further promote their apps on Telegram while benefitting from preferential terms.
Apple and Google receive their standard 30% commission when users purchase Stars, but Telegram will subsidize advertising purchased using Stars.
Thus, if developers reinvest stars into promoting their app, the overall commission will be close to 0%.
As a result, launching apps on Telegram becomes more economically advantageous compared to traditional mobile apps. The recent surge in mini-applications has already made Telegram the primary place for launching new apps.
Stars and advertising subsidies elevate Telegram to a new level, unprecedented in the history of social media.
