Last November, the TON Foundation joined forces with Future3 Campus, Hashkey Capital, and Wanxiang Blockchain Labs to launch TON Bootcamp in Asia. It is an acceleration program designed to stimulate the development of mini-applications in the Web3 ecosystem.
This fundamental accelerator will put together old-timers with new developers to build Telegram: the largest super-application combining Web2 and Web3. Old-timers are those who have extensive experience developing Web Apps for WeChat and others.
The reasoning behind the Telegram SuperApp is obvious: to create an integrated ecosystem of mini-apps built upon Telegram messenger and @wallet cryptopayments. The focus is on Asia because its population is familiar with the concept of SuperApps such as Weibo and WeChat.
The TON Foundation selected projects from almost 200 applications and, after careful consideration, admitted 12 into the program. Their teams will undergo a 10-week training program on product development, operations, marketing, and compliance.
Here are the 12 participants to join the TON Bootcamp accelerator:
- Tradoor: a decentralized derivatives trading platform that leverages TON scalability to enhance the user experience
- NFBT Ticketing: a mini-app that allows cinemas to sell movie tickets to users with TON wallets
- WowFish: a casual social game about fishing
- Xircus: a code-free platform for creating, deploying, and managing cross-chain dApps and mini-apps compatible with Telegram/mobile devices for Web2 and Web3 businesses
- Bounty Bay: a TON native social commerce platform designed for creators and brands to effectively distribute products
- BOOM UP: a GameFi mini-app combining social engagement and profit opportunities through the construction, protection, and improvement of personalized towers with NFT buffs
- Anome: a protocol for issuing and lending value-based gaming NFT assets and a fully functioning onchain
- Telemetree: an analytical service designed specifically for the TON and Telegram Mini App ecosystems
- TonStash: a microinvestment project that makes it easy for users to participate in decentralized financing (DeFi)
- HypeSaints: a mobile game console with NFT support
- DaoBot: a decentralized bot for community management on Telegram
- TonsofFriends: directory allowing easy purchase and sale of access to premium communities
The training program officially launched on January 28 in Hong Kong in a private event and will end in May with the Demo Day event. You can find more details on the TON blog.
Currently, all attention is focused on attracting experienced mini-application builders to the Telegram ecosystem, followed by TON integration. Perhaps in the near future, they will find a solution to create a TMA constructor to facilitate entry of users and businesses, as well as free access to Web2 and Web3 applications.
