On Thursday, September 17, 2026, the 229-meter, Panama-flagged bulk carrier First Margaux collided with the 49-meter Chinese fishing vessel Luqing Yuanyu 108 in the busy Singapore Strait. Dramatic onboard footage showed the smaller vessel being struck and flooding. Fortunately, all crew members survived without injury, and the fishing vessel made it to port under its own power.
