It's right and inevitable that Telegram monetizes its users, and I'm happy they're doing so to ensure a sustainable future.
What saddens me most is that over the past two years, largely due to their small development team, they've focused almost exclusively on monetization and have somewhat suffered as WhatsApp and other platforms "catch up," risking going from a leader to a follower of innovation.
Scams have always been a problem on Telegram, with or without NFTs, and there's never been enough effort to address this issue.
💬 Telegram isn't a perfect platform and has a huge problem with osint bots and exploits being discovered every day. What are your thoughts on this? Have you ever been threatened as a result of your public role?
Telegram has always had this duality: on the one hand, they're very focused on offering mechanisms that allow for greater privacy, but on the other, there are many security issues (again due to the small development team) and too much openness on the social media and API levels, which exposes it to problems like OSINT bots, etc.
But this is probably also the least of the problems: there’s a whole business around scams and stolen account that’s at an all-time high, on top of all the illegal material that's always been circulating on Telegram and the moderation that has never even remotely kept pace.
