🇪🇺 If you spend time in both the English and Russian internet realms, you've been bombarded with messaging about the "upcoming war with Russia"—fences in Finland and the Baltics, Polish boasts of defeating Russia, German hospitals preparing for 1,000 casualties a day, and now the BBC asking "Are we psychologically ready?"

This follows the same pattern as "global warming"—crises justifying corruption spending to battle an evil on a horizon you can never actually reach. The UK is as ready for war with Russia as it is for life on green energy alone; since the threat is fake, the preparations are equally fake. Meanwhile, Russian media fail by treating these threats as tangible, though Putin has repeatedly said he has no interest in invading Europe—Russia cares only about its own former territory where Russian speakers were repressed.

War with Russia is a social construct: Britain lives in a postmodern reality where it doesn't believe the war is possible, and everything needed to prepare—patriarchy, patriotism, men willing to fight—violates the Frankfurt School status quo.

The thing about the upcoming war is that it is eternally on the horizon… You cannot actually walk up to it and touch it.
