Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said the Supreme Court will examine an application seeking recall of its September 23 split verdict on the 2023 law governing the appointment of the CEC and Election Commissioners.

The plea, filed by Naman Shrestra, raises concerns over Justice Satish Chandra Sharma’s participation, citing his son’s role as standing counsel for the Election Commission in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. A separate curative petition has also been filed in the matter.
