As many as 111 sitting MPs and MLAs have changed political parties after being elected to the current Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha or State Assemblies since 2022, according to an analysis by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch.

The report said the group includes 26 Lok Sabha MPs, seven Rajya Sabha members and 78 MLAs. The NDPP, Trinamool Congress and Congress together accounted for 64 of those who switched parties, while the NPF received the highest number of lawmakers who crossed over, followed by the BJP and NCPI.
