In a huge step forward for clean energy, the Kunhar River has been successfully diverted, marking the start of main dam construction at the 300 MW Balakot Hydropower Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The project, led by Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) in collaboration with China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) — will generate over 1.1 billion kWh of renewable power annually across Pakistan.
