Germany has approved an additional €2.5 million in funding to support Pakistan’s clean energy transition — focusing on battery storage systems and power sector decarbonisation.

The grant, provided through GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) under the Decarbonisation and Digitisation of Power Distribution Network (DEDI) Project, will pilot a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Pakistan’s distribution network and strengthen digital infrastructure for renewable integration.
