Here is what’s going on in my thoughts tonight after pondering what you and Ken have said.
Phi has a golden reciprocal.
Phi is 1.618, its reciprocal is 0.618
They form the same ratio in two directions:
one for expansion, one for contraction. 🌀
If you only ever expanded by phi, things would just blow up endlessly.
Knowing that nature balances growth with return,
inward curl, or proportionate containment.
When a spiral grows outward, the space between each turn
shrinks in a phi proportion—that’s the reciprocal.
So for a pine cone or flower like you mentioned Nichole, one spiral set follows phi,
the other follows 1/phi.
Together they pack seeds and petals most efficiently.
This pattern of spiraling is also called a hypotrochoid or hypotrochoidal.
Sometimes I hear Ken say
“Hypertrophoid” and he’s talking about the same thing.
Sometimes we invent new words to go along better with explaining these things ☺️
I started saying
“Dielectromagnetism”
instead of electromagnetism for fun,
as dielectricity is the pure aspect, and electricity the byproduct.
So back to the point here,
Phi is like the breath out,
1/phi is the breath in 🌀
Phi is branching, 1/phi is folding back
Together they make a self-sustaining pattern
instead of runaway expansion or collapse.
That’s why in the calculation that you presented Nichole,
Using standard Hebrew gematria,
Tree of Life (233)
divided by East (144)
= 1.618
It shows the outward branching of creation,
The tree (all creation)
comes out of the East, where the sun rises and life begins
at this ratio.
And THEN East (144) divided by Tree of Life (233)
= 0.618
Which is the reciprocal
This shows the inward return of the cycle as it curls back in upon itself!
The metaphor and the math work both for the life and death of creation.
