🔴 The Situation on The Third Largest Island in The World is Nearing Disaster.
🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀
➡️ On the island of Borneo (Kalimantan), 12.5 million people are suffering from the severe effects of toxic smoke and smog caused by forest fires, compounded by a series of volcanic eruptions in Indonesia that have released massive amounts of ash.
➡️ On the island, which is divided between Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei, over 113,000 cases of respiratory illnesses have been reported in the past week.
➡️ In Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, the air quality index (AQI) reached a value of 780.
➡️ An AQI value of 780 represents a serious threat to public health, as it far exceeds the American AQI scale, which ends at 500, and a value that high is considered "beyond the scale," meaning extremely dangerous.
