Azerbaijan reportedly helped Israel's president transit through Turkish airspace

Israel's President Isaac Herzog travelled to Baku on an Azerbaijani airline plane, transiting through Turkish airspace.

While Turkey has not imposed a general ban on Israeli civilian aircraft, it does not allow Israeli government planes carrying officials to transit its airspace.

Herzog circumvented this restriction by using a regular passenger flight operated by Azerbaijan Airways on October 14.

Turkish officials have stated that they were not informed in advance that Herzog would be on the flight.
