France has urged Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to reverse the postponement of presidential and parliamentary elections until September 2027 and hold them as soon as possible, Middle East Monitor reports, citing Le Monde.

Abbas’s decree sets the elections for 11 September 2027. The Palestinian presidency cited Israeli measures and the need to prepare conditions for free, fair and inclusive voting.
