🇺🇸 Disgraced former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, the longest-serving Republican speaker in US history, has died at 84.
➡️ He served as House speaker from 1999 until his retirement in 2007.
➡️ In 2015, he pleaded guilty to illegally structuring cash withdrawals used for hush-money payments to a former student who accused him of sexual abuse.
➡️ He was sentenced to 15 months in prison in 2016, with the federal judge in the case describing him as a “serial child molester.”
