Saudi Aramco is considering offering discounts on crude loaded off Oman to offset record-high shipping costs and regain market share lost amid disruptions to tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Reuters.
⚫Aramco is discussing discounts with Asian refiners for cargoes loading in the second half of October and transferred ship-to-ship off Oman. One source said a discount of around $9 per barrel is under consideration.
⚫In recent weeks, Aramco has sold Oman-loaded crude at premiums of $10–$20 per barrel above its monthly official selling prices as Saudi Arabia seeks alternative export routes outside the Strait of Hormuz.
