🇺🇸 US President Donald Trump has rejected a seven-day proposal from Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end hostilities in the region.
➡️ Submitted by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi through Qatari mediators, the plan called for a ceasefire, the lifting of the US naval blockade and oil sanctions, and the release of frozen Iranian assets.
➡️ In return, Iran said it would restore normal maritime traffic through the strait within seven days and resume talks with Washington.
➡️ The Strait of Hormuz is a critical global energy route. Disruptions have already sharply reduced shipping traffic and increased pressure on global energy markets.
