Energy drinks are disappearing from another East Texas school district. Diboll ISD has banned them on campus, citing concerns about student health and classroom focus, following a similar move by Gladewater ISD. Some cans contain more than 200 mg of caffeine - twice the recommended daily limit for teenagers - while doctors warn heavy consumption can affect the heart, nervous system and metabolism. That morning “energy boost” may come with more baggage than students realize.
