Attention testnet validators and node owners

Please update your node to testnet branch, commit bb935a8 or newer.

If you use mytonctrl please execute following commands:

update
upgrade testnet

Please upgrade testnet validators and nodes to the latest commit in testnet branch (024a023).

Minimal stake in testnet is decreased. We expect minimal effective stake to be around 100k testnet coins now.
We expect to reduce the minimum stake requirements next week.

To avoid participation in elections by too many non-updated validators, please do one of the following:
- update your nodes to the latest commit of the testnet branch (7dd84d0; this may change on Monday), or
- set stake 0 so your validator does not apply for elections.

In addition, we recommend updating all nodes (including lite servers), as recent updates have improved synchronization. This may be especially important under conditions of 450 ms block times in both the masterchain and basechain.

Liteserver owners please upgrade your testnet nodes to the latest commit in testnet branch (fc27470).

We’d like to share our upcoming plans for TON testnet operations.

Recent updates have shown that some third-party validators are upgrading their nodes too slowly, which slows down our ability to iterate quickly on new releases. In addition, while every update is thoroughly tested in our devnet under a range of network conditions (including latency and packet loss), testing against real user activity consistently provides new insights. To keep improving testnet reliability, we need node logs, ideally from all nodes in the network. For a limited period, this requires tighter operational control of the network.

For this reason, we have temporarily increased the minimum stake requirement to at least 2M testnet coins. We also ask third-party validators, including those meeting this requirement, not to participate in validation for the time being.

Current plan:

1. This week, our focus is to stabilize synchronization across all nodes in the network, including both liteservers and validators, even under a high masterchain block rate. If you operate any of these nodes, please follow the instructions in this channel and apply upgrades when requested. We expect 2 upgrades this week.

2. Separately, around mid-February, we plan to reduce the minimum stake requirement and invite validators to rejoin validation.
Please upgrade testnet validators and nodes to the latest commit in testnet branch (ac60dff).

Before upgrade please install clang-21 or higher (it is mandatory now, instruction is here). And remove openssl binaries compiled by previous TON instalations:
sudo rm -rf /usr/bin/openssl_3

After that update as following:
update openssl35
upgrade testnet

⚠️ On January 19, in the second half of the day, a network configuration update may cause nodes that are not updated to be unable to store all blocks. If preserving full history is important for your installation, please update immediately or shut down your nodes until the update is applied.
