Brazil Enacts Constitutional Amendment Eliminating the 6x1 Work Schedule in the Presence of Lula

🇧🇷 In a formal session of the National Congress presided over by Senate President Davi Alcolumbre and attended by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Brazil enacted the constitutional amendment on Friday that formally ends the 6x1 workweek (six days of work followed by one day off).

📜The reform, through the Proposed Constitutional Amendment (PEC 221/2019), previously approved by the Senate, aims to restore the quality of life for millions of workers. During the same legislative session, PEC 14/2021 was formalized, granting the right to special retirement benefits to community health workers nationwide.
