🦠The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has recorded 125,288 suspected cases and 3,644 deaths from cholera from January 2025 through September of this year. The infectious outbreak is spreading rapidly in regions of Central Africa affected by armed conflict and a lack of safe drinking water.
⚠️ The health crisis is worsening as it coincides with the Ebola epidemic declared in May, which has claimed 4,410 lives in the African nation. Insecurity in provinces such as North Kivu and South Kivu is hindering access to medical care, prompting the WHO to organize vaccination drives and community awareness campaigns.
