🇭🇳 teleSUR’s correspondent in Honduras, Karim Duarte, reported that Honduran authorities issued a precautionary alert on Friday afternoon (local time) in response to the powerful earthquake that originated in Panama. Meteorologist Anderson Ortega confirmed that the waves projected to reach the Gulf of Fonseca, in the southern part of the country, will be less than 30 centimeters high.
Despite the declaration of a state of emergency in the Central American region, experts assure that this slight increase in wave height will have a minimal impact and will be practically imperceptible to the public; therefore, they urge people to remain calm while maritime monitoring continues.
