🌀 The National Meteorological Service (SMN), which is part of Mexico’s National Water Commission, reported yesterday that Isaias had intensified into a Category 1 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale. At 10:00 p.m. local time, it was located 290 kilometers northwest of Progreso, Yucatán, and 370 kilometers north-northwest of Campeche.
⚠️ Its extensive circulation will bring heavy rainfall of 75 to 150 mm to southern Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, and Yucatán, as well as very heavy rainfall along the Tamaulipas coast. It will also cause winds with gusts of 50 to 70 km/h along the Veracruz coast and waves of 2 to 3 meters in Veracruz and Tabasco.
