🚨 Kenya Confirms Its First Ebola Case and Death
🦠 Kenyan authorities activated rapid-response protocols in the capital, Nairobi, after diagnosing the country’s first case of Ebola. The patient, a Kenyan citizen who had traveled from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), died on October 5 at a hospital in Nairobi after arriving on a commercial flight from Uganda.
🔍 The Ministry of Health has begun epidemiological contact tracing of 28 direct contacts, including family members and healthcare workers, while searching for 23 passengers and 4 crew members who traveled on the same flight to contain any potential spread.
🌍 The health emergency is spreading across East Africa, driven by the crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which is facing the largest outbreak in its history with more than 8,500 confirmed cases and 4,000 deaths.
