🚨 Pamphlets linking Eduardo Paes to his rival’s election number are reported to the TRE-RJ

🗳️ The campaign of Eduardo Paes, the Social Democratic Party (PSD) candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro—an ally of the Workers’ Party (PT)—formally filed a complaint with the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-RJ) regarding the distribution of flyers in Nova Iguaçu that show his photo alongside the number 22, which corresponds to his opponent Douglas Ruas of the Liberal Party (PL). The correct PSD number is 55.

⚖️ The TRE-RJ reported that it has already requested inspectors to investigate the incident. Ruas’s campaign will also appeal to the court, arguing that the PL candidate was equally harmed by the material.

📢 “This association undermines democracy, as it confuses voters, obscures the positions of opposing candidates, and could damage the image of both,” stated Ruas’s team.
