Paraguay Heads to the Polls to Elect Mayors and City Council Members Nationwide

🗳️ More than 5 million Paraguayans are eligible to vote this Sunday, October 4, in the municipal elections to elect mayors and city council members in 263 districts across the country.

🔴 In these municipal elections, a total of 5,927 public offices will be decided across the country’s 263 districts, with 268 organizations competing, including 32 political parties, 22 movements, and 214 electoral alliances.

🔴 The mayoral race in Asunción, with 452,283 eligible voters, is the main political contest between Camilo Pérez (ANR) and Soledad Núñez (united opposition), who are vying to succeed Luis Bello, the current interim mayor.

The results in the capital and in the main districts of the Central Department will determine regional leadership ahead of the 2028 general elections.
