Paraguay: Network of Fake Medical Degrees and Clinical Training Exposed
🇵🇾 An audit by the Comptroller General’s Office at Paraguay’s Ministry of Education uncovered more than 453,000 suspicious transactions in the validation of diplomas, including the approval of medical degrees without proof of hospital clinical training.
🏥 The Paraguayan Medical Association warned that the findings are “just the beginning” of a systematic scam. Faced with a shortage of hospital beds for thousands of students, several universities simulate clinical training by validating theory courses or office meetings as actual patient care.
💻 Among the irregularities are 223,000 modifications made on non-business days, unauthorized access to the state system, and diplomas validated without the signatures of the clinical training centers—exposing a serious educational and healthcare crisis.
