🇮🇶 Iraq commemorates the withdrawal of foreign troops and reaffirms its sovereignty

🏛️ In Baghdad, Iraq, Palestine Square was the scene of official and public events to celebrate “Sovereignty Day” following the withdrawal of international combat forces.

💬 During the day, Iraqi Resistance spokesman Jaafar al-Husseini stated that his militias are not bound by government agreements and warned: “Our weapons will remain a sacred trust in our hands.”

⚖️ In contrast, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zidi and political leaders emphasized that “no weapons are outside the scope of the law,” urging that security decisions be subject to the exclusive authority of the state.
