🚨 U.S.: Allegations of "Repression and Torture" in ICE Detention Centers

🚨 A report by the Florence Project described the conditions at three Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) centers in the state of Arizona, United States, as “repression and torture.” The investigation documents abuses and negligence against 64 migrants due to a lack of oversight of the prison contractor.

🩺 Among the reported cases, the death of a Haitian citizen from an untreated dental infection stands out, as does the forced isolation to which a woman was subjected after suffering a miscarriage while in immigration custody.

⚠️ Additionally, the Women’s Refugee Commission (WRC) reported the detention and deportation of 363 pregnant women. Zain Lakhani, director of the organization, stated:

“If these women are going to be detained, they must be monitored regularly to ensure that their pregnancies remain safe.”
