Samsung Display to Supply Latest M16 OLED Panels for Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra

Samsung Electronics will feature Samsung Display's latest OLED material set in its flagship Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, launching early next year. The standard S27 and S27 Plus will also update their material set for the first time in three years.

According to industry sources, Samsung agreed to apply the new M16 material set to the S27 Pro and Ultra. This marks M16's first adoption in Samsung smartphones, serving as a key feature alongside Color Filter on Encapsulation (COE) and privacy display technology to differentiate the higher-end models. M16 is also used in the iPhone 18 Pro series and Vivo's upcoming iQOO 16.

The standard S27 and Plus will upgrade to the M14 set, replacing the M13 set used from the S24 through S26 series.

Samsung Display will exclusively supply 100% of the OLED panels for the Galaxy S27 series, releasing in Q1.
